The Prospect

Shermco Canada is seeking an experienced Field Services Technician III, Electrical Testing to perform advanced electrical testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and commissioning activities on low-, medium-, and high-voltage electrical systems.

This field-based position is ideal for a technician who can work independently with limited supervision,



complete complex testing assignments, interpret technical standards and procedures, and provide guidance to developing technicians.

Responsibilities

- Perform advanced electrical testing, inspection, troubleshooting, start-up, commissioning, and data collection on low-, medium-, and high-voltage electrical systems.
- Conduct instrument transformer testing and related diagnostic assessments.
- Test power transformers using Doble, transformer turns ratio, insulation resistance, power factor, and other applicable diagnostic methods.
- Test, calibrate, and troubleshoot electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based protective relays.
- Perform cable testing using methods such as VLF, Tan Delta, power factor, and DC high-potential testing, where applicable.
