Responsibilities

The HSE Field Advisor provides daily, hands-on health, safety, and environmental oversight for large-scale earthworks construction activities. You will work directly with field crews and contractors to ensure compliance with the BC Health, Safety and Reclamation Code for Mines, WorkSafeBC regulations, and company policies.



This role requires an active field presence, balancing heavy civil earthworks safety (excavation, hauling, civil structures) with active construction projects around an active open pit mining operation.

Key Responsibilities

Field Oversight & Safety Leadership

- Spend 80% of shifts in the field monitoring expansion construction activities, as well as major earthworks construction (tailings dams, haul roads, water management structures).

- Coach and mentor front-line supervisors and workers on hazard identification, risk assessment, and secure work practices.

- Conduct daily safety inspections, equipment audits, and field observations to identify and mitigate at-risk behaviors or conditions.

- Facilitate and review Field Level Risk Assessments (FLRAs) and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) for heavy civil and mining tasks.

- Procure safety supplies such as Gas monitors, PPE, signage, fall protection harnesses, etc.
