Engagement Type Contract The Objective

We move fast, so every invoice needs to go out on time, every expense needs to be tracked, and our financial reporting needs to give a clear picture of where things stand. Without clean books, we're working blind, and that's not how we operate.

This is a flexible, part time contract role for someone self-directed who can manage the work independently. You'll own the monthly reconciliation cycle, production expense tracking, and contractor payment runs, and be comfortable working within project budgets and explaining financial constraints clearly to a non-finance team. We need precision and reliability: no rounding errors.

The Arsenal





- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online or similar cloud-based accounting software
- Experience managing accounts receivable, accounts payable, and monthly bank reconciliation for a service-based business
- Ability to process contractor and vendor payments accurately and on schedule
- Strong understanding of HST/GST filing requirements for Canadian small businesses
- Experience tracking project-based production budgets and flagging cost overruns proactively
- Excellent written communication skills - able to translate financial data into plain-language summaries for leadership
- A disciplined, detail-obsessed mindset with zero tolerance for rounding errors
- 2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, ideally within a creative agency or project-based environment
