We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our finance team. This role is essential in managing the company’s accounts receivable processes, ensuring accurate billing, timely collections, and maintaining strong customer relationships. The ideal candidate will have experience with various accounting software and possess excellent analytical and communication skills to support our financial operations effectively.
Duties
- Manage and process customer invoices using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, and PeopleSoft
- Perform account reconciliation to ensure accuracy of receivables and resolve discrepancies promptly
- Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and follow up on overdue payments through professional negotiation and communication
- Maintain accurate data entry of all transactions related to accounts receivable
- Collaborate with the accounting team on accounts payable and bookkeeping tasks as needed
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries related to billing and payments via phone or email with proper phone etiquette
- Assist in month-end closing activities,
including analysis of receivables and account analysis reports
- Support the team with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to improve cash flow management
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, and PeopleSoft
- Strong knowledge of accounts receivable, accounts payable, bookkeeping, and general accounting principles
- Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy in financial recordkeeping
- Effective negotiation skills to facilitate collections while maintaining positive customer relationships
- Analytical mindset with solid analysis skills for account reconciliation and account analysis tasks
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Good math skills for accurate financial calculations and data interpretation
- Excellent communication skills, including professional phone etiquette and customer service experience
- Prior experience in financial services or related fields is preferred
