Dove Creek Motor Express located in Essex, Ontario

We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and dependable Dispatcher / Customer Service Representative to join our team.

With over 30 years in business, Dove Creek specializes in cross-border LTL (Less Than Truckload), FTL (Full Truckload), and intermodal transportation throughout Ontario and Michigan.

Our regular business operations run Monday through Friday. We offer a rapid-paced, team-oriented environment and are looking for someone who can confidently manage dispatch responsibilities, communicate effectively, and work independently.

Qualifications

- Previous experience in trucking dispatch, logistics, or transportation operations.
- Knowledge of Canada–U.S. cross-border transportation.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and make decisions independently.
- Experience with TMW (TruckMate) dispatch software would be considered an asset.
- Familiarity with customs documentation, Hours of Service (HOS), and transportation regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate drivers, schedule loads, and prepare next-day dispatch assignments.




- Manage afternoon/evening dispatch operations and resolve daily challenges.
- Communicate with drivers, customers, customs brokers, and team members.
- Monitor shipments, pickups, deliveries, and driver progress.
- Prepare and forward customs documentation to brokers.
- Maintain accurate dispatch records and update customer portals.
- Troubleshoot delays and service issues to keep operations running efficiently.
- Coordinate with dock staff to ensure trailers are loaded and ready for scheduled departures.
- Work closely with the dispatch team while confidently managing responsibilities independently.

What We Offer
- Permanent, full-time employment with consistent Monday–Friday hours.
- Compensation: $20.00–$25.00 per hour, based on experience.
