While our dedicated cat care team looks after our feline residents, our cafe serves as the heart of our operation, offering delicious, cat-themed desserts and beverages in a bright, welcoming atmosphere.

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Bakery Assistant to join our team. If you love baking, enjoy working in a cheerful and relaxed setting, and appreciate the calming presence of cats (from a distance!), this might be the perfect role for you.

Position: Bakery Assistant

Job Overview

As a Bakery Assistant, you’ll play an significant role in preparing, baking, and presenting our menu of pastries and plated desserts. This role does not involve direct cat care—our cat specialists handle that—but you will be working in a space where cats are present in our adjacent lounge area.

Key Responsibilities

- Bake, decorate, and finish pastries, cookies, and other baked goods following recipes and quality standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the baking area, following all food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Package and label bakery items for display and sale
- Monitor inventory of baking supplies and ingredients, assisting with restocking as needed




- Collaborate with café staff to ensure seamless service and fresh product availability
- Occasionally assist front-of-house with service, packaging or answering basic guest questions about bakery items
- Loading dish machine and drying plates

Requirements

- Previous baking or kitchen experience
- Barista skills an asset
- Ability to follow recipes and pay close attention to detail
- Comfortable working in an environment where cats are present (please consider any allergies before applying)
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive attitude
- Food Handler’s Certificate (or ability to obtain one)
- Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 lbs
- Morning and weekend availability is a plus
