Responsibilities
- Provide companionship and emotional support
- Assist with meal preparation, laundry and light housekeeping
- Support clients with daily living activities
- Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming and personal hygiene when qualified and authorized
- Provide respite support for family caregivers
- Assist with mobility and follow individualized care plans
- Maintain accurate care documentation
- Report client concerns and changes in condition
- Respect client privacy, dignity and confidentiality
Qualifications
- Health Care Aide certification preferred for personal care assignments
- Previous caregiving or home-support experience considered
- Current First Aid and CPR certification preferred
- Satisfactory Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search required before client assignments
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license are assets
- Compassionate, dependable and professional
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
Compensation and Opportunities
- Home support and companionship assignments: Starting at $18–$19/hour
- Qualified HCA and personal care assignments: $20–$22/hour, depending on experience and responsibilities
- Versatile casual scheduling based on client needs
- Opportunities for additional hours as the company grows
- Performance review after approximately three months, with potential wage increases based on performance and business needs
This is a casual, on-call position. Weekly hours are not guaranteed.
