Join our vibrant cheese shop team as a Cheese Shop Assistant / Cheesemonger and become a key player in delivering exceptional customer experiences! In this role, you’ll showcase your professionalism, passion for food, assist customers in selecting the perfect cheeses, and ensure our shop operates smoothly and efficiently. Duties

- Greet customers proffessionally, warmly and provide knowledgeable assistance on cheese varieties, pairings, and serving suggestions
- Cut cheese to order, ensuring proper food handling and sanitation standards are maintained
- Manage cash handling responsibilities with integrity, including cash register operations
- Processing telephone and internet orders and prepping club boxes
- Assist with inventory management by restocking shelves, rotating products, and tracking stock levels
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of cheese shop and prep area
- Upsell products by recommending complementary items to enhance customer satisfaction

Experience





- Previous experience in food service or retail environments, especially within the food industry or restaurant settings
- Familiarity with POS systems
- Solid time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy hours
- Knowledge of food safety practices, sanitation procedures, and proper food handling techniques
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally

Shifts are Tuesday to Saturday. We are closed Sundays and Mondays, and we do not work past 6 p.m so there are no late shifts. We do require full availability in December, as this is our busiest month of the year. Pay: $19.25-$22.00 per hour
