Overview

Kyle Demelo Construction is a growing civil and earthworks construction company located in the Central and South Okanagan. We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Civil Superintendent to oversee and coordinate large-scale civil construction projects in these areas. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive construction management expertise, and proficiency with industry-standard software. This role offers an chance to lead diverse teams, ensure project quality, and maintain safety standards across multiple projects.

The Civil

Superintendent will play a critical role in delivering projects on time, within budget, and to client specifications.

Location: Central Okanagan - Lake Country to Peachland

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Wage Range: $42.00 - $50.00/hour plus overtime. Equivalent to approx. $120,000-$143,000 annually with OT and vacation pay

Responsibilities

- Supervise daily construction activities on civil sites, ensuring adherence to project plans and schedules
- Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to facilitate smooth workflow
- Oversee quality control measures to meet industry standards and client expectations
- Monitor project progress and prepare reports
- Manage safety protocols and enforce compliance with WSBC
- Review construction drawings to ensure accurate implementation
- Assist in budgeting, cost control, and resource allocation for civil projects




- Lead troubleshooting efforts for unforeseen issues or delays during construction phases

Qualifications

- Minimum 7 years of experience supervising civil construction projects with a strong understanding of construction processes and safety standards in BC
- Proficiency with construction management software is an asset
- Skilled in reading drawings and construction estimating
- Operate a wide range of earthmoving equipment
- Demonstrated ability in budgeting, cost control, and project scheduling
- Supervising experience with a track record of managing diverse teams effectively
- Knowledge of quality control procedures and WorkSafe BC safety regulations
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with clients, subcontractors, and team members
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence
