Hereiswhatupwillgettodo:

- Develop,recommend,implementandmonitoroccupationalhealthandsafetyprograms,includingIndustrialHygiene,FireSafety,CommunicableDisease,Respirator,FirstAid,WHMIS,hearingconservation,designatedsubstancesandotherapplicablehealthandsafetyprograms.
- Provideadviceandguidancetomanagement,supervisors,employeesandtheJointHealthandSafetyCommitteeregardingoccupationalhealthandsafetylegislation,regulations,standards,directivesandbestpractices.




- Conductand/orcoordinateworkplaceinspections,audits,riskassessments,ergonomicassessmentsandphysicaldemandsassessments;identifyhazardsandrecommendappropriatecontrols,preventativemeasures,equipment,modificationsandaccommodations.
- SupportWSIBclaimsadministrationbyworkingcloselywithdesignatedthird-partyprovider(s),employees,managers,andPayroll.
- Reviewandfollowuponworkplaceinjuryandillnessreports,designatedofficerreports,workrefusalsandstoppages,criticalinjuriesandotherhealthandsafetyincidents;investigateandrecommendcorrectiveandpreventativemeasures.
- InvestigateandcoordinateWorkplaceSafetyandInsuranceBoard(WSIB)claimsandanalyzeinjuryandincidenttrendstoidentifyopportunitiesforpreventionandprogramimprovement.
- Develop,deliverandmonitoroccupationalhealthandsafetytraining,identifytrainingrequirementsandcompliancegaps,andprovidetrainingrelatedtoapplicablelegislation,workplacehazards,emergencyproceduresandOHSprograms.
- Coordinateaccessibility,workplaceaccommodationandreturn-to-work/reintegrationactivities,includingidentifyingbarriers,reviewingfunctionalrestrictionsandmedicalinformation,andrecommendingappropriateworkplacemodificationsandaccommodations.
- Coordinatemedicalsurveillanceactivities,includingthereview,maintenanceandcommunicationofapplicablehearing,bloodtestingandotheroccupationalhealthsurveillanceinformation.
- Coordinateenvironmentalhealthandsafetyrequirementsrelatingtohazardousmaterials,designatedsubstancesandhazardouswaste,includingappropriatehandling,disposalandregulatoryrequirements.
- Maintaincurrentknowledgeoflegislativeandregulatoryrequirementsandactasaliaisonwithregulatoryandexternalagencies,includingtheMinistryofLabour,MinistryoftheEnvironment,FirePreventionOfficers,PublicHealth,consultants,vendorsandotherorganizations
- Coordinateoccupationalhealthandsafety-relatedpurchasingandvendoractivities,includingPPE,testingservice
