Aldan Tool is a precision CNC job shop in Barrie, Ontario, making custom one-off parts for industrial and automation/machine-building customers across Ontario. We don't typically run production work — every job is a different part, a different setup, a different challenge. Our floor runs Haas, Cincinnati, and Hitachi CNC machines, and Mill power-controlled mills. We're a small, hands-on team.
The Role
We're hiring an experienced, self-directed machinist to set up and run one-off jobs across our mix of CNC and manual equipment. This isn't a button-pusher role — there's no repeat production to fall back on, so you need to be comfortable figuring out a recent part every time.
Responsibilities
- Read and work directly from customer prints (metric dimensions, imperial tooling)
- Set up and run CNC mills and lathes; operate manual equipment as needed
- Select tooling, speeds, and feeds for each new job
- Program or edit CNC programs (Fusion 360 CAM, Mill power conversational)
- Inspect your own work to print tolerances and GD&T; callouts
- Troubleshoot setup and program issues independently
- Flag tolerance or lead-time risks on a print before they become problems on the floor
What We're Looking For
- Several years of hands-on CNC machining experience — journeyman-level skill or equivalent shop experience
- Able to set up and run a job from a print with minimal supervision
- Comfortable reading GD&T; and holding tight tolerances
- Experience with Fusion 360 or similar CAM software is an asset
- Lathe and mill experience both valued; multi-machine versatility is a plus
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and takes ownership of the part from setup through inspection

Job Types: Permanent, Full-time Pay: $26.00-$30.00 per hour
