We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Communicative Disorders Assistant (CDA) / Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) Assistant working as an independent contractor to support speech therapy services across various settings. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about helping clients improve communication skills, with opportunities to work in pediatric and acute care environments. The position offers flexible scheduling and the chance to collaborate closely with licensed speech-language pathologists to deliver high-quality care.
Duties
- Assist licensed SLPs in implementing therapy plans tailored to individual client needs, including pediatric and adult populations.
- Prepare therapy materials and set up equipment for sessions, ensuring a safe and engaging environment.
- Support clients during therapy activities, providing encouragement and guidance to facilitate progress.
- Document client progress, session notes, and treatment outcomes accurately in accordance with clinical protocols.
- Maintain confidentiality of client information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to coordinate care and ensure seamless service delivery across different settings such as hospitals, clinics,
or schools.
- Stay informed about medical terminology relevant to speech-language pathology and acute care environments to enhance service quality.
Experience
- Prior experience in acute care settings or pediatrics is highly desirable, demonstrating familiarity with diverse client needs.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to speech-language pathology enhances effectiveness in clinical documentation and communication.
- Previous experience supporting speech therapy sessions or working under the supervision of licensed SLPs is preferred but not required.
- Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and a genuine interest in helping clients achieve communication goals are essential for success in this role.
