CORPORATE / COMMERCIAL ASSOCIATE (EDMONTON)

Brownlee LLP offers an excellent opportunity for an Associate Lawyer with 2 to 5 years of relevant experience to join one of Edmonton's leading law firms.

We are seeking a lawyer with experience or a strong interest in corporate and commercial law, commercial real estate, business transactions, governance matters, and commercial contracting. The successful candidate will work with private sector businesses as well as municipalities, utility providers, school divisions, post-secondary institutions, and other public-sector organizations on a broad range of corporate, commercial, real estate, and business advisory matters.

The Role The successful applicant will be involved in:

- Corporate and commercial transactions;
- Share and asset purchase transactions;
- Corporate reorganizations and governance matters;
- Commercial contracts and business agreements;
- Commercial leasing, development, and real estate transactions;
- Infrastructure, utility, and development projects;
- Procurement, funding, and shared-services arrangements; and
- Providing practical legal advice to public and private sector clients on strategic business matters.

A significant portion of the practice involves providing solicitor-side legal services to public-sector clients, including advising on commercial transactions, governance frameworks, real estate matters, infrastructure projects, and complex contractual arrangements.



While experience working with municipalities or other public-sector organizations would be an asset, the focus of the role is on corporate, commercial, governance, and real estate work rather than litigation or regulatory matters. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess:

- A J.D. or LL.B. and membership in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta (or eligibility for membership);
- 2 to 5 years of post-call experience in corporate/commercial, real estate, or business law;
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills;
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills; and
- The ability to manage multiple files while delivering exceptional client service.
