(CWPI), a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the well-being of seniors in our community, Bergen Gardens offers a warm, supportive environment where residents and team members feel a true sense of family and belonging. Our state-of-the-art retirement residence includes 149 Assisted Living suites as well as 48 private health-care suites within four intimate Memory Care Cottages, each home to 12 residents. Our specially trained team provides compassionate, person-directed care.

We are looking for a Dining Room Host to help in the dining room during service, serving drinks, welcoming residents, busing tables and assisting servers. You will also deliver meals that residents have ordered to there suits.

Duties

- Provide a warm, welcoming, respectful,



and person-directed dining experience to elders in Assisted Living and Memory Care.
- Prepare the dining room for service by ensuring tables, chairs, place settings, menus, beverages, condiments, and other supplies are clean, organized, stocked, and ready.
- Welcome elders to the dining room and assist them with seating, meal choices, beverages, and reasonable requests while respecting their independence.
- Review the daily menu and relevant dietary information before meal service and ensure I understand any special meal requirements.
- Assist with serving meals, beverages, and desserts in a timely and courteous manner and ensure elders receive the correct meal and requested items.
- Follow established procedures for allergies, intolerances, special diets, and texture-modified meals and seek clarification when needed.
- Monitor the dining room during meals, respond to elder requests, clear dishes, replenish beverages and supplies, and maintain a clean and welcoming environment.
- Check meal-delivery carts and verify that all meals and requested items are accurate before delivery.
- Deliver meals to elders in their suites when required, ensuring the correct meal is delivered safely and in a timely and respectful manner, maintaining the elder's privacy, dignity,



and independence.
- Communicate missing or incorrect meals, dietary concerns, resident requests, feedback, or other service issues promptly to the Dining Supervisor or kitchen staff.
- Assist with setting up, maintaining, and cleaning dining rooms, meal delivery areas, beverage stations, and other assigned service areas.
- Properly handle and return dishes, cutlery, trays, carts, and other dining equipment according to established procedures.
- Assist with special events, celebrations, activities, and other dining-related functions as required.
- Listen to and communicate elder feedback regarding meals and dining services to the Dining Supervisor and Director of Food Services.
- Engage with the residents building relationships and connections.

Qualifications

- I have or am working toward a Grade XII high school diploma
- Must be 18 years of age or older and hold, or willing to obtain a Manitoba Safe Choices Certificate
- Experience in hosting/dining services is considered an asset
- Experience in Senior Care is considered an asset
