Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Kitchen Manager is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing all cookware, dishware, cutlery

Experience:

- Use of dishwashers
- Use of kitchen equipment.
- Hotel and restaurant experience and asset.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming which include wearing the proper uniform and name tag when working

Education:

- Must have a Canadian high school graduation or equivalent
- Must have experience with dishwashing equipment
- Must be able to read, write, and comfortably communicate in English
- Must understand oral and written instructions
- Must have completed Food Safe I
- Must have successfully completed WHMIS training

Responsibilities and duties: Reports to: Sous Chef; designated shift lead for daily tasks

Role Purpose To support kitchen operations through dishwashing, sanitation, cleaning, waste handling, and other assigned duties in accordance with facility policies, public health regulations, and workplace safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

- Wash and sanitize dishware, cookware, cutlery,



utensils, and kitchen equipment in accordance with established procedures, including ECO-GREEN practices where applicable. Store clean items in designated areas and handle dishware carefully to minimize breakage.
- Operate the dishwasher safely and ensure wash and rinse temperatures remain within acceptable levels. Report equipment malfunctions and sanitation concerns promptly.
- Clean and sanitize assigned kitchen areas, including equipment, countertops, and the beverage centre. Handle waste appropriately and leave work areas clean and ready for the next shift.
- Store, handle, and use dishwashing chemicals in accordance with WHMIS requirements and facility procedures. Monitor supplies and report shortages to the Kitchen Manager or designated shift lead.
- Follow proper food safety, hygiene, and infection prevention practices, applicable public health regulations, and safe work practices, including proper lifting and bending techniques. Report hazards and follow facility procedures regarding illnesses that may affect food safety.
- Assist kitchen aides and servers, including dining room service, deliveries, and basic food preparation when trained, authorized, and assigned.
- Follow the designated shift lead’s daily priorities and communicate any equipment faults, supply shortages, safety concerns, or incomplete tasks promptly.

Responsibility and Additional Duties Perform assigned duties within the scope of training, demonstrated competence, and facility procedures. Other reasonable kitchen and food service duties may be assigned by the Sous Chef, Kitchen Manager, or designated supervisor, consistent with the employee’s role and capabilities.
