We're currently seeking a Part-Time Kitchen Steward to join our culinary team. In addition to a competitive hourly wage, team members also participate in kitchen gratuities, providing additional earning potential. As business levels grow, there may be opportunities for additional hours.
Typical shifts: 4:00 PM - 11:00 PM
Availability required: Some events may require shifts extending as late as 2:00 AM.
What You'll Do
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment while maintaining sanitation and food safety standards.
- Wash and sanitize dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipment on an ongoing basis.
- Organize and properly store clean dishes, pots, pans, and supplies.
- Maintain a clean, secure, and organized work area.
- Clean spills promptly and follow health and safety procedures.
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks.
- Support the culinary team in maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen operation.
What We're Looking For
- Reliable, dependable, and self-motivated.
- Able to work independently and follow direction.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible and energetic with a strong work ethic.
- Strong time management and prioritization skills.
- Previous commercial kitchen experience is an asset.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of commercial kitchen experience preferred.
- WHMIS certification required (training provided).
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.
Physical Requirements
- Able to lift up to 35-40 lbs.
- Able to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8-hour shifts).
- Available to work evenings and occasional late-night event shifts.
