We are newly renovated Italian & South Asian fine dining restaurant located in the heart of downtown of Bowmanville. After opening and under the general direction of the Restaurant Supervisor, this position will be responsible for making and preparing our culinary dishes as a cuisinary experience to our guests. As a member of the Basilico team, you will maintain high team morale and a standard of 100% guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities include

- Preparing ingredients and assist the line cooks to assemble dishes as required
- Perform portion control and minimize wastage for cost efficient measures
- Monitoring and restocking ingredients at workstation and meeting prep times to ensure smooth delivery
- Maintain a clean workstation area, including kitchen equipment, tables and shelves
- Provide excellent customer service by ensuring prompt, professional and accurate order delivery
- Conduct regular cleaning and sanitation of glassware, dishware, equipment and supplies
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operations
- Ensure compliance of all standards and procedures relating to provincial workplace safety standards.

Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of cook experience in a high volume restaurant
- Understanding of cooking methods, procedures and knife handling skills
- Knowledge of food handling and safety regulations
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively




- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Ability to work days, evenings and weekends
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
