Calgary Dog House is looking for a reliable, hardworking, and passionate animal lover to join our team! We are looking for a candidate to open the shop.

We are a kennel-free dog daycare and grooming facility that focuses on providing a protected, structured, and stress-free environment where dogs can socialize, play learn, and relax.

We are looking for someone who genuinely loves working with dogs, understands the importance of safety, and takes pride in maintaining a clean, organized, and positive environment.

Duties

- Supervise and interact with dogs during playtime, rest periods, and feeding times to promote a positive environment.
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of the facility, including kennels, play areas, and common spaces.
- Monitor dogs for signs of stress or illness and report any concerns to management promptly.
- Monitoring dog behaviour, body language, and group interactions to ensure everyone's safety
- Support team members in managing large groups of dogs, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times.
- Engage dogs in enrichment activities to promote mental stimulation and physical exercise.
- Assist dog groomers with heavy lifting and comforting dogs that require extra love!
- Communicating effectively with coworkers and taking initiative throughout the day.
- Providing mental stimulation, enrichment activities, and basic training exercises.




- Take photos and videos of the dogs for social media.
- Depending on hours, checking dogs in and out.
- Answering phone calls and booking grooming appointments.

Experience

- Prior experience working with animals is an asset; training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Strong customer service skills are a plus, especially when interacting with pet owners and visitors.
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting, with safety and efficiency.
- Proactive, observant, and able to recognize potential problems before they escalate.
- Compassionate attitude towards animals and excellent communication skills are essential for success in this role.
- Able to multitask and work independently without constant direction.
- Patient, compassionate, and passionate about animals welfare.
- Positive team player with strong communication skills
