Picture this: a crisp fall morning, a happy lab pulling you toward the river trail, and a client’s message waiting on your phone that says, “She LOVES you.” Later, a quiet afternoon visit with a cat who has decided your lap belongs to her now.

We’re welcoming new Care Partners for the fall and winter season, and we’d especially love to hear from people with daytime availability and anyone who’d enjoy overnight pet sitting. Saskatoon winters keep us busy, with plenty of holiday travel and snowbird trips, and we need good people to help keep tails wagging while families are away.
A Little About Us
Rachael’s Rovers started nine years ago with one simple idea: pets deserve care from people who really love them, and their owners deserve to feel completely at ease while they’re gone.
Since then we’ve grown into a team that looks after hundreds of pets across Saskatoon. We know the dogs by name, the cats by their quirks, and the clients by their favourite updates.
How the Role Works
There are no fixed shifts here. Bookings are posted in our team chat, and you choose the ones that suit your schedule, your neighbourhood, and your life. Pick up a few walks between classes, add visits around another job, or take on an overnight when it works for you.
Most Care Partners do around 10 dog walks or drop-in visits a month, and/or one overnight booking. Some do more and some do less. You decide.
Over time you’ll get to know your regulars, and they’ll get to know you. There’s nothing quite like a dog spotting you through the front window and losing its mind with joy.
What You’ll Be Doing
Dog walks. On-leash adventures around the client’s neighbourhood, fresh water, treats when allowed,
and all the belly rubs they ask for.
Cat visits. Feeding, fresh water, litter care, medication when needed, and playtime or quiet company, depending on the cat’s mood that day.
Overnight stays. Settling into a client’s home, keeping pets on their usual routine, and being the cozy companion who makes sure nobody feels lonely while their people are away while you maintain your regular routine whether it be school, work or even your daily time at the gym!
You Might Be a Great Fit If...
- You’ve cared for dogs and cats, whether your own, family pets, or through work
- People can count on you, and you take your commitments seriously
- You communicate clearly and kindly with clients and teammates
- You’re comfortable using your phone for scheduling, directions, and visit updates
- You like working independently but appreciate having a supportive team in your corner
The Must-Haves
- Clear Criminal Record Check
- Valid driver’s licence and a reliable vehicle
- 21 or older (an insurance requirement)
