We are seeking a part-time Facility Attendant to help keep the Kelowna Paddle Centre clean and in good shape during the off-season. This role includes regular cleaning, landscaping, and maintenance plus some repairs and improvements to the facilities. The Facility Attendant will care for the cleanliness and upkeep of the premises, ensuring that it is in great condition for paddler over the winter and into the 2027 season.
Responsibilities
- Cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and sanitizing surfaces.
- Facilities maintenance tasks like changing light bulbs, replacing filters, ensuring equipment is in good working order, and other minor repairs.
- Facility repairs and improvements such as painting, installing hardware, storing equipment, and moving furniture.
- Track supply levels of cleaning products and maintenance materials.
- Ensure all areas are safe, organized, and free of hazards by adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain detailed records of cleaning schedules and maintenance activities.
- Follow established procedures for waste disposal and recycling efforts.
Skills
- Experience or knowledge in cleaning tasks and general labour.
- Basic understanding of facilities maintenance and general upkeep tasks.
- Ability to perform routine maintenance tasks safely and effectively.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness and organization.
- Positive physical stamina to perform cleaning duties that require standing, bending, lifting (up to 50 pounds), and walking throughout the facility.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while following safety guidelines.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members and reporting issues promptly.
This position offers a flexible work environment in a recreation setting. The successful applicant will be able to choose their preferred days and hours within our standard opening times (Monday to Thursday, 9am to 2pm). Total number of hours or shifts each week will depend on applicant availability, organizational requirements, and job performance. Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour
