Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic First Year Physics Tutor to support students in their introductory physics courses. This role involves helping students grasp fundamental concepts, develop problem-solving skills, and build confidence in their understanding of physics principles. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching, strong communication skills, and a solid foundation in physics and related subjects.

Responsibilities

- Provide one-on-one tutoring sessions to a first-year physics students, focusing on core concepts and problem-solving techniques
- A strong academic background in physics, applied science, engineering, or a related field. Topics include vectors, particle equilibrium, force system resultants, equilibrium of rigid bodies, structural analysis, internal forces, friction, kinematics, dynamics, work and energy, impulse and momentum.
- A solid understanding of mechanics and relevant university-level physics concepts.
- Previous tutoring or teaching experience is an asset.




- The ability to explain technical concepts clearly and guide students through problem-solving processes.
- Strong communication skills, reliability, and a commitment to student learning and academic success.

Qualifications

- Strong background in physics, mathematics, and related STEM fields such as computer science or special education
- Experience with tutoring, teaching, or classroom instruction is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and patiently
- Proficiency in computer skills including educational software, online learning platforms, and basic troubleshooting
- Demonstrated ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse student needs and learning styles
- Passion for education and helping students succeed academically
- Bachelors Degree minimum in subject area or related subject area

Pay: $35.00-$40.00 per hour Expected hours: 4.0 per week
