Join Suncor as an Electrical Engineer, enhancing high-voltage systems at our Fort McMurray Base Plant in Alberta. This role focuses on power distribution, troubleshooting, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. As a senior Electrical Engineer, you will support the protected and reliable operation of our electrical systems. Your expertise will be critical in equipment failures, conducting root cause analyses, and developing maintenance strategies. You will also work closely with multidisciplinary teams on brownfield modifications and compliance assurance.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide engineering support for equipment reliability and troubleshooting
• Lead efforts on motors, VFDs, MCCs, and transformers
• Analyze diagnostics and maintenance history for corrective actions
• Develop scopes of work, specifications, and upgrade strategies
• Support compliance and safety standards during projects
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• 9+ years experience in heavy industrial environments
• Knowledge of CSA, IEEE, and NFPA standards
• Strong expertise in electrical distribution systems
