Art Space & Design is a growing contemporary art gallery representing an exceptional collection of established and emerging artists. Our galleries combine distinctive artwork, sophisticated presentation, and exceptional client service.

We are seeking an experienced, confident, and results-driven Gallery Supervisor to lead daily operations and support the continued success of our Vancouver gallery.

This leadership opportunity is designed for an accomplished sales professional who understands how to motivate a team, drive revenue, maintain exceptional operational standards, and create outstanding client experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Leadership & Performance

- Drive gallery sales by actively participating in client consultations, artwork presentations, and high-value transactions.
- Consistently achieve individual sales targets while supporting overall gallery revenue objectives.
- Monitor daily sales activity, client follow-ups, and team performance.
- Guide and motivate sales consultants to improve their sales skills and achieve individual targets.
- Develop relationships with collectors, interior designers, and prospective clients.
- Identify new sales opportunities and implement strategies approved by management to improve performance.
- Maintain exceptional standards of customer service throughout the sales process.

Team Supervision & Accountability
- Supervise daily activities and provide clear direction to gallery employees.
- Assign responsibilities, establish priorities, and ensure tasks are completed accurately and on time.
- Assist with employee onboarding, training, coaching, and professional development.
- Monitor employee performance, punctuality, professionalism, and adherence to company procedures.
- Address operational and performance concerns promptly and report significant matters to management.
- Coordinate staff schedules and maintain appropriate gallery coverage.
- Foster a professional,



motivated, accountable, and results-oriented team environment.

Gallery Operations & Standards
- Take responsibility for the smooth and efficient daily operation of the gallery.
- Oversee opening and closing procedures, security measures, and operational checklists.
- Ensure exceptional standards of cleanliness, organization, and visual merchandising are maintained at all times.
- Conduct regular gallery inspections and ensure artwork is properly positioned, leveled, and professionally displayed.
- Supervise inventory procedures, artwork handling, installations, and gallery display rotations.
- Ensure all artwork movements and inventory updates are accurately documented.
- Coordinate exhibitions, client appointments, and special gallery events.
- Identify operational challenges and implement appropriate solutions within company policies.

Reporting & Communication
- Provide accurate and timely sales, operational, and team performance reports to management.
- Monitor progress toward sales targets and communicate opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure management instructions, gallery procedures, and operational expectations are consistently implemented.
- Demonstrate sound judgment, professional communication, and accountability in daily decision-making.

Qualifications

- Minimum 3 years of sales experience preferred, ideally in luxury retail, fine art, interior design, or another premium sales environment.
- Demonstrated supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Proven ability to achieve sales targets, negotiate effectively, and close high-value transactions.




- Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide, motivate, and develop employees.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional presentation, confidence, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining high operational standards.
- Strong sense of accountability, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Genuine interest in contemporary art, design, and luxury products.
- Availability to work flexible retail hours, including weekends and holidays.

Additional Skills - An Asset
- Previous supervisory experience in a premium retail store or art gallery.
- Experience with sales performance reporting and staff development.
- Knowledge of interior design, artwork presentation, and visual merchandising.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and client relationship management software.
- Experience coordinating exhibitions, client events, or gallery installations.
