ArchStone Homes is a growing residential construction company specializing in high-quality semi-custom and custom homes in North Grenville and surrounding communities.

We are building our team around a hands-on, quality-focused approach to construction. We are looking for a General Carpenter who wants to become an important part of that team and grow with the company.

This is not simply a labourer position. We are looking for someone who understands residential construction, can work with their hands, takes pride in their work and can progressively take ownership of tasks and projects.

The Role

As a General Carpenter, you will work closely with the Site Foreman and Project Manager throughout the construction of our homes.

Your responsibilities will include

- Performing general residential carpentry and construction work
- Framing walls, openings, bulkheads and other components as required
- Installing doors, windows and exterior/interior trim
- Building decks, stairs, railings and other exterior structures
- Assisting with siding and exterior finishing
- Installing blocking, backing and miscellaneous framing
- Assisting with drywall, insulation and interior finishing
- Completing deficiencies and warranty-related repairs
- Reading and understanding basic plans and construction drawings
- Measuring, cutting and installing materials accurately
- Safely operating hand tools and power tools




- Maintaining a clean, organized and safe jobsite
- Assisting subcontractors and other members of the construction team when required
- Identifying potential problems before they become costly issues
- Completing assigned work within established timelines
- Communicating progress, problems and material requirements to the Foreman

What We're Looking For The ideal candidate will have:

- 2+ years of residential construction or carpentry experience
- Solid understanding of residential construction methods
- Ability to read and understand basic construction drawings
- Competence with hand and power tools
- Good measuring and layout skills
- Ability to work independently without constant supervision
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Good understanding of workplace safety
- Ability to lift and handle construction materials safely
- Valid driver's licence
- Reliable transportation to jobsites
- Positive communication skills
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
