We are currently hiring a General Machinist to join a manufacturing team in Mississauga, Ontario.
The successful candidate will have practical experience working with conventional machining equipment, including lathes, milling machines, and surface grinders. This position involves reading engineering drawings, performing precision machining operations, and ensuring finished components meet quality specifications.
Additional training and guidance may be available based on the candidate's experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate conventional lathes, milling machines, and surface grinders.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and machining specifications.
- Use precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T;) principles during machining and inspection.
- Perform machining operations according to production requirements.
- Inspect finished components to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow established manufacturing procedures and safety guidelines.
Qualifications
- Previous hands-on experience operating conventional lathes, milling machines, or surface grinders.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and blueprints.
- Working knowledge of GD&T; and precision measurement techniques.
- Experience using SOLIDWORKS.
- Good understanding of basic mathematics used in machining operations.
- Ability to work safely in an industrial manufacturing environment where dust may be present.
- Robust attention to detail and willingness to learn new processes.
Compensation & Schedule
- Hourly Rate: $25.00
- Working Days: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
- Location: Mississauga, Ontario
