Operating two large facilities in Thunder Bay, our highly trained team delivers accurate, efficient core processing, with samples prepared for laboratory analysis. We also provide in-house core logging services and experienced, safety-focused geologists, geotechnicians, core cutters, and prospectors to support exploration projects nationwide.

Position Overview

This position will support the continued growth of dp Diamond Blades & Core Cutting Services’ geological personnel and core processing divisions. The successful candidate will apply their geological knowledge to staff training and development, quality assurance, client relations, recruitment, and operational support. A post-secondary degree in geology or a closely related field is required for this position.

Working alongside an experienced and supportive team, the intern will help develop a skilled, safety-focused workforce, strengthen client relationships, and enhance the quality and efficiency of our core processing services. This position offers a recent graduate the opportunity to gain valuable industry experience, develop professional and leadership skills,



and contribute to the growth of Northern Ontario’s mineral exploration sector while becoming part of a company that values its people and invests in their success.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

- Staff Training and Development: Develop and deliver internal training programs that strengthen employees’ geological knowledge, technical skills, and safety practices. Help build a qualified workforce of core cutters and geotechnicians to address critical labour needs within the mineral exploration industry.
- Client Relations and Geological Program Development: Build relationships with current and prospective clients, applying geological expertise to understand exploration objectives, coordinate staffing requirements, and develop customized core processing programs that meet client needs.
- Quality Assurance: Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of quality assurance procedures to ensure drill core is handled, cut, documented, and sampled accurately and consistently. Help maintain sample integrity and reliable geological data, supporting informed exploration decisions and strengthening client confidence in our services.
- Recruitment and Industry Partnerships: Assist with recruiting geoscientists, geotechnicians, core cutters, and other exploration professionals. Build relationships across the industry to address workforce needs, support staffing requirements, and create opportunities for business growth.
- Operational Support: Assist with overseeing day-to-day operations at our Thunder Bay core processing facilities, helping maintain efficient workflows, consistent service quality, safe work practices, and effective coordination of personnel and projects.

This is a one-year contract with strong potential for extension and ample room for growth within the organization. Competition will close Monday November 2, 2026.

Pay: $70,000.00 per year
