Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated High School Cafeteria Attendant to join our school food service team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals to students, maintaining a clean and safe dining environment, and providing excellent customer service. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the well-being of students while gaining valuable experience in food service operations within an educational setting.

Duties

- Assist in food preparation, including assembling meals and portioning ingredients according to safety standards
- Operate POS systems such as Micros POS for cash handling and transaction processing
- Serve meals to students efficiently while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor
- Manage cash register operations, including cash handling and making accurate change
- Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are upheld throughout food handling and serving processes
- Maintain cleanliness of dining areas, kitchen stations, and equipment in compliance with sanitation protocols
- Assist with inventory management, restocking supplies,



and organizing food items
- Support students with any questions or concerns related to meal service or menu options
- Uphold all health and safety regulations during food preparation and serving activities

Experience

- Previous experience in food service, cashiering, or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS is a plus
- Robust customer service skills with the ability to interact positively with students and staff
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to manage time effectively during busy meal periods
- Experience in the food industry or kitchen environment is advantageous but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential

Pay: $15.00-$17.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 per week
