Caregiver for a person with disabilities The Amarjit Singh family is seeking a caregiver for their mother, who has a disability. This is a full time, year-round, permanent position.

Duties

- Provide the elderly person with companionship and personal care in the employer's home under the direction of family members
- Complete tasks that the elderly person has difficulty performing, such as reaching, climbing stairs, and carrying household items up to 50 lbs
- Assist in feeding, if necessary
- Shop for food and household supplies related to the elderly person with disabilities
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals and keep track of health and medications as prescribed by the doctor and under the supervision of family members.




- Assist with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene
- Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties related to the elderly person with disabilities
- Perform other related duties as required.

Wages: $24.50/hr for 35 hours per week.

Work setting: Private home located near Abbotsford, BC.

Required skills

- Completion of Secondary School
- Minimum of 6 months of experience in similar positions or completion of a 6-month training program in a relevant field is required.
- Ability to communicate in English.
- Knowledge of Punjabi will be considered an asset.
