IT/AV Technician (Part-Time / On-Call)

Location: Vancouver, BC, Canada

Work Arrangement: On-site | Independent Contractor

Schedule: Part-time / On-call, based on assigned service tickets

This is a part-time, on-call independent contractor chance. Work will be assigned as service tickets arise, so availability and flexibility are important.

SkySys is looking for a reliable and technically skilled IT/AV Technician to provide on-site IT support, audiovisual troubleshooting, and conference room assistance in Vancouver.

This is an excellent opportunity for technicians seeking flexible, project-based work on an independent contractor basis.

Key Responsibilities

- Troubleshoot desktops, laptops, and other IT hardware.
- Provide Level 1 audiovisual (AV) support for meeting rooms and conferencing equipment.
- Support Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom, and Webex devices.
- Perform basic network checks involving LAN ports, cabling, patch panels, access points, and device connectivity.
- Assist with printer troubleshooting, spare device management, and equipment replacements.




- Provide on-site smart-hands support and coordinate with remote IT teams and vendors.
- Follow ticketing procedures, site guidelines, and escalation processes.
- Maintain clear communication and documentation for each assigned ticket.

Requirements

- 2–4 years of experience in IT support, desktop support, or audiovisual support.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting desktops, laptops, and meeting room equipment.
- Basic knowledge of networking, TCP/IP, copper/fiber cabling, and connectivity troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or Webex.
- Strong communication, customer service, and documentation skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting equipment and working at height when required.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada and willing to work on-site in Vancouver.

Nice to Have

- Experience with Crestron, Crestron Fusion, Extron, or managed Teams Room devices.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow, Jira, or other ticketing tools.
- CompTIA A+, ITIL, or relevant AV certifications.
