Position: Full-Time Winter Employment, with Potential for Summer Employment

Maurice Yelle Snow Removal Ltd. is a family-owned and operated company with over 60 years of experience providing commercial snow removal and property maintenance services throughout Ottawa and the surrounding areas.

We are looking for a dependable, hands-on Lead Hand / Foreman to help oversee our commercial winter operations. This position offers full-time work throughout the winter season, with the possibility of continuing full-time during the summer months performing civil construction work, depending on the successful candidate’s experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities

- Oversee and coordinate commercial snow removal and winter maintenance operations.
- Direct and support operators, drivers, and crews during snow and ice events.
- Operate a company pickup truck equipped with a snowplow as required.
- Monitor commercial properties to ensure plowing, salting, and de-icing are completed properly.
- Coordinate with dispatch and management regarding crew assignments, site conditions, and operational issues.
- Conduct site inspections and follow up to ensure service requirements are met.
- Monitor equipment readiness and report vehicle maintenance needs.
- Respond to changing weather conditions, including overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts during winter events.
- Ensure employees follow company procedures and health and safety requirements.
- Depending on experience and qualifications,



assist with civil construction projects during the summer months.

Qualifications
- Previous experience in commercial snow removal or winter operations.
- Experience supervising crews or coordinating snow removal activities.
- Hands-on experience plowing with a pickup truck.
- Knowledge of commercial property plowing, salting, and de-icing.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Reliable, safety-conscious, and able to make decisions under pressure.
- Flexible availability during snowstorms and freezing rain events.
- Civil construction experience, including water and sewer, asphalt, or concrete work, is an asset for potential summer employment.
