About the role
CureWood is a growing Surrey-based manufacturer of engineered timber products, sold through major building-supply distributors under the Seamless brand. We’re a small, hands-on team looking for a mechanically minded problem-solver to keep our mill running, help make it better, and support the company through this phase of growth.
You’ll own the maintenance and setup of our production equipment. As the company grows, the right person will grow into leading our maintenance department.
What you’ll do
Maintenance & troubleshooting
- Own preventive maintenance and repairs across the mill: moulders, an automated finger-joint line, dust collection, conveyors, pneumatics, hydraulics, pumps, and basic electrical
- Diagnose and fix equipment issues as they come up, using manuals, schematics, electrical diagrams, mechanical drawings, and AI
- Keep spare parts and maintenance records organized
Setup & tooling
- Set up and calibrate production lines for efficient startups and changeovers
- Sharpen and maintain tooling, and prep tooling ahead of changeovers
Improvement & fabrication
- Work with management to develop new methods, processes, and tools that increase efficiency
- Design and fabricate production equipment such as conveyors, and upgrade existing machinery to cut downtime
Team & safety
- Work with the production team to minimize downtime and keep equipment performing
- Maintain a clean,
safe shop by following safety protocols and inspecting for hazards
- Pitch in on other production tasks when needed
What you bring
