Occupational Therapist (Contract) – Long-Term Care, Burnaby, BC

Motion Matters Rehab Inc. is currently seeking a contract Occupational Therapist to join our team in a long-term care setting in Burnaby, BC. This position offers flexible, part-time hours and competitive compensation. We are ideally looking for a therapist who can commit to approximately 24 hours a week.

Since 2007, Motion Matters Rehab Inc. has partnered with long-term care homes to deliver comprehensive, resident-centered rehabilitation programs. This OT role is based solely in one care home, but occasionally vacation coverage at another location may be required. There is no community travel, no report writing and no involvement with adjusters or claims managers! Our focus is simply on supporting residents to achieve their highest possible quality of life within a compassionate, connected, team-oriented environment.

The Occupational Therapy caseload is diverse and includes:

· Wheelchair and seating assessments

· Recommendations for mobility devices and adaptive equipment to enhance function and independence

· Wound management assessments and intervention strategies

You will also collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary care team at the care home, and are expected to be self-directed, organized and adaptable.

Qualifications Required:

· Degree in Occupational Therapy

· Current registration with the College of Health Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC)

· Criminal Record Check

· Recent TB test

· Professional liability insurance

· 1-3 years of experience in seating and/or long-term care preferred
