Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients’ physical, sensory, and cognitive functions to determine therapy needs
- Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s goals and medical condition
- Implement therapeutic activities and exercises designed to improve mobility, coordination, and daily living skills
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, nurses, and case managers to coordinate patient care
- Monitor and document patient progress regularly, adjusting treatment strategies as needed
- Educate patients and their families on therapeutic techniques and home exercise programs for continued improvement
- Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies
Skills
- Proven experience working as an Occupational Therapist in hospital or clinical settings
- Strong case management skills to coordinate care effectively across different providers
- Experience working with pediatric populations is highly desirable
- Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate and motivating approach
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to occupational therapy practices
- Acute care experience is preferred, demonstrating ability to thrive in fast-paced environments
- Ability to communicate clearly with patients, families, and healthcare team members
