Tri-Steel Salvage is looking for a responsible and skilled Operator/Torch Cutter/Yard Hand for our scrap metal yard. The ideal candidate will present him or herself professionally, respectfully, and honestly with all customers, coworkers and management. As an employee of Tri-Steel Salvage, you must be able to work safely and efficiently while maintaining an organized environment.

Tri-Steel Salvage is seeking an individual that has experience operating heavy equipment, an oxy/propane torch cutter and is willing to fulfill the day to day duties within a scrap yard.

Qualifications and Expectations:

- Must have experience on heavy equipment such as excavator and skid steer
- Effectively and safely operates equipment, utilizing machine specific controls and machine attachments
- Operates in crowded, fast-paced working environments, and exercises extreme caution with awareness of potential situational hazards to ensure site safety
- Interprets verbal and non-verbal communication from operators, ground personnel, and acts accordingly
- Performs mechanical inspections and servicing including controls and operations, completing daily inspection logs, performs maintenance and adjustments, ensures good housekeeping, and performs machine lubrication




- Recognizes existing and potential hazards and knows how to identify these through conducting a field level pre-job hazard analysis, checking the machine for hazards and assessing any tasks before start
- Experience in a similar work environment
- Be a positive team member with excellent attendance and a willingness to learn and follow instruction
- Safety conscious and experience working in an industrial environment
- Preference will be given to those presenting with experience in the identifications and processing of various metals
- Working knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety
- Experience in torch cutting with oxy/propane

Physical Requirements/Work Conditions

- Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs
- Must be able to work outside in all different weather conditions, including cold and heat

Hours Monday - Friday 8 am - 5 pm

Certifications

- Class 5 Driver's Licence (required)

- First Aid

- WHMIS

- TDG
