## Position Overview

We are looking for a dependable, caring Part-Time Pet Aftercare & Store Operations Assistant join our Markham team.

This role focuses primarily on behind-the-scenes operational support, with occasional customer-facing responsibilities when needed. You will work closely with the Store Manager and team to ensure smooth daily operations while maintaining a respectful, organized, and calming environment for the families we serve.

The ideal candidate is compassionate, reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable supporting both operational tasks and sensitive client interactions.

Schedule: Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, 2:00–6:00 p.m.

Hours: 16 hours per week, with occasional additional shifts available

## Key Responsibilities

As a Pet Aftercare & Store Operations Assistant, you will play an essential role in ensuring operations run smoothly and respectfully. Responsibilities include:

- Support daily backend store operations and workflow
- Maintain a clean, calm, and organized environment
- Assist in operating the aquamation machine (training provided)
- Process and prepare pets’ ashes with care, following identification and handling procedures to ensure accuracy, dignity, and respectful return to their families.
- Prepare and package memorial items with care and precision
- Create pet memorial keepsakes (e.g., paw prints, engraved items, framed photos)
- Scan documentation and maintain accurate digital and physical filing systems
- Ensure organized and confidential record management




- Restock supplies and monitor inventory levels
- Assist with cleaning and preparation of pets when required
- Support memorial suite setup as needed
- Maintain product displays and organization
- Provide occasional customer support (e.g., greeting families, offering refreshments)
- Assist team members with operational tasks as assigned

## Physical Requirements

- Ability to safely lift and move items up to 45 lbs
- Comfortable standing for extended periods
- Able to perform cleaning and operational tasks in a hands-on environment

## Qualifications

- Must be a pet lover – we want someone who understands the unique bond between pets and their owners
- Regular availability for all four scheduled shifts of Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, 2:00–6:00 p.m. is required. Please confirm this availability when applying
- Fluent in English
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Reliable and able to follow structured procedures
- Comfortable working in a quiet, emotionally sensitive setting
- Professional, respectful, and tactful
- Team-oriented with the ability to take direction
- High school diploma or equivalent

## Work Environment

- Primarily backend operations with occasional customer interaction
- Training will be provided
- Occasional opportunities for additional shifts
- Potential to grow into a full-time role as the business expands
