Physiotherapist : Midlife MSK, Pain, Active Rehabilitation & Strength
Treat pain. Restore confidence. Build strength.
MenoBliss Medicine is looking for a Physiotherapist who sees rehabilitation as more than passive treatment.
We are building a new MD-led multidisciplinary clinic in the Halifax area focused on helping women remain healthy, strong and functional through perimenopause, menopause and beyond.
We are specifically looking for someone with a strong interest in musculoskeletal care, persistent pain, active rehabilitation and progressive resistance training.
This Is Not a Passive-Treatment-Focused Role
Many women in midlife experience:
- Back and neck pain
- Hip, knee and shoulder pain
- Osteoarthritis
- Tendinopathy
- Previous injuries
- Persistent pain
But also
- Loss of strength
- Deconditioning
- Fear or uncertainty around exercise
- Difficulty returning to physical activity
We want to help patients understand their bodies, address genuine musculoskeletal problems and then progress toward strength, independence and long-term physical resilience.
The Role
Your practice may include
- Comprehensive MSK assessment
- Persistent and recurrent pain
- Osteoarthritis management
- Tendinopathy
- Musculoskeletal injury rehabilitation
- Return-to-exercise planning
- Progressive resistance training
- Functional strengthening
- Mobility and physical function
- Exercise education and self-management
- Transition from rehabilitation into long-term strength training
The physiotherapist will also play an important role in the future development of MenoBliss Strong, our strength-focused program for women in midlife.
A Supported Practice Environment
MenoBliss provides
- Clinical space
- Access to rehabilitation/strength equipment
- EMR
- Booking and scheduling
- Front-desk support
- Payment processing
- Marketing and patient acquisition
- Internal referrals
- Collaboration with the physician owner and multidisciplinary team
Compensation will be based on an attractive percentage of professional fees, with the opportunity to increase earning potential as your practice grows. Flexible part-time scheduling will be available initially.
Science, Exercise and Healthy Aging
We want a physiotherapist who understands that strength is not simply fitness.
Maintaining muscle and physical capacity is fundamental to:
- Function
- Independence
- Bone health
- Metabolic health
- Fall prevention
- Confidence
- Long-term quality of life
Our team will participate in regular clinical meetings, evidence reviews and multidisciplinary case discussions. Who We Are Looking For
We are particularly interested in someone who:
- Has excellent MSK assessment skills
- Understands persistent/chronic pain
- Strongly believes in active rehabilitation
- Is comfortable prescribing and progressing resistance exercise
- Enjoys helping patients become independent rather than treatment-dependent
- Has an interest in women’s health and healthy aging
- Values evidence-based practice
- Enjoys collaboration
- Wants to continue learning and developing professionally
Experience in chronic pain, exercise rehabilitation, strength and conditioning, osteoarthritis or active rehabilitation would be a significant asset.
Professional Requirements
Applicants must
- Be registered and in good standing with the appropriate Nova Scotia physiotherapy regulator
- Maintain skilled liability insurance
- Practise within professional scope and standards
- Maintain required certifications and continuing education
Interested? If you believe good rehabilitation should ultimately help people become stronger, more confident and less dependent on treatment, we would like to meet you.
