Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable, experienced, and professional individual to provide residential cleaning and general household support at a private home located in Kelligrews, Conception Bay South.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and comfortable home environment. In addition to regular household cleaning, the position includes laundry, basic meal preparation, and light outdoor household duties.

This is primarily a daytime position; however, flexibility is required. Occasional evening or later-night work may be necessary when additional guests are visiting or when household needs require additional support.

Duties and Responsibilities The Residential Cleaner / Household Support Worker will be responsible for duties including:

- Daily cleaning and general upkeep of the home
- Cleaning and sanitizing kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, and common living areas
- Sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and other routine cleaning duties
- Making beds and changing bed linens as required
- Washing, drying, folding, and putting away clothing, towels, and linens
- Maintaining an organized and tidy household
- Basic meal preparation and kitchen cleanup
- Washing dishes and loading/unloading the dishwasher
- Taking household garbage and recycling outside for collection
- Performing basic outdoor household tasks as required
- Preparing the home when guests are expected




- Providing additional cleaning and household support during and following guest visits
- Monitoring household cleaning supplies and advising when additional supplies are required
- Performing other reasonable household duties as assigned
- Picking up and dropping off items, if required.

Physical Requirements This position involves regular physical activity. The successful candidate must be physically capable of:

- Regularly walking up and down stairs
- Standing and walking for extended periods
- Bending, kneeling, reaching, and stretching
- Carrying laundry, garbage, household supplies, and other items
- Moving or repositioning household items when cleaning
- Performing occasional heavier lifting safely
- Completing repetitive cleaning activities throughout the workday

Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants must

- Have previous experience in residential cleaning, housekeeping, maid services, or a similar position
- Have experience with basic meal preparation
- Be dependable, punctual, trustworthy, and able to work independently
- Have strong attention to detail and take pride in maintaining a clean and organized home
- Be comfortable working in a private residential environment
- Be able to follow instructions and established household routines
- Have excellent English communication skills sufficient to clearly understand instructions,



communicate household needs, and perform the duties of the position safely and effectively
- Be adaptable with scheduling when additional hours are required
- Be available for occasional evening or later-night work
- Be physically capable of safely performing the duties of the position
- Maintain appropriate personal hygiene and dress in clean, practical, and professional clothing suitable for residential cleaning and household duties

Hours of Work The position will generally provide 15 to 30 hours of work per week. Hours may vary depending on household requirements, and some weeks may exceed 30 hours. Most work will be scheduled during daytime hours. From time to time, additional evening or later-night hours may be required, particularly when guests are visiting the home. Flexibility in scheduling is therefore important.

Compensation The position pays $22-25.00 per hour, plus applicable vacation pay. Mandatory payroll deductions will be made as required by law.

Work Location

This is an in-person position at a private residence in Kelligrews, Conception Bay South, Newfoundland and Labrador. This is not a remote or work-from-home position.
