Cape Carraholly Retreat | Port Moody, BC

Cape Carraholly Retreat is looking for a reliable, hands-on person to help maintain our waterfront retreat on Indian Arm. Our boat-access-only property includes cabins, yurts, hot tubs, boats, trails, and outdoor guest spaces.

This is a varied, active role suited to someone who enjoys working outdoors, solving practical problems, and keeping things safe, organized, and ready for guests.

Responsibilities

- Maintain hot tubs, including water testing, balancing, cleaning, draining, and refilling as needed.
- Check propane levels and safely change tanks throughout the property.
- Collect, sort, and organize garbage and recycling, keeping storage areas clean and secure.
- Complete minor repairs and general maintenance in guest units and shared spaces.
- Split, stack, and distribute firewood.
- Assist with routine boat cleaning, upkeep, and maintenance.
- Maintain decks, pathways, stairs, outdoor furniture, and other property features.
- Help with landscaping, mowing, trimming, weeding, and seasonal cleanup.
- Keep tools, equipment, and maintenance areas organized.
- Identify and report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, and supply needs.




- Work with housekeeping and management to prepare the property for guest arrivals.

What we’re looking for

- Practical maintenance skills and confidence using common hand and power tools.
- Reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
- Comfort working outdoors in changing weather.
- Ability to carry supplies, move firewood, and complete physical work on uneven terrain.
- A friendly, respectful approach when working around guests and other staff.
- Willingness to learn and follow protected work procedures.

Experience with hot tubs, boats, landscaping, carpentry, plumbing, or general property maintenance is an asset. You do not need experience in every area.

Working at Cape Carraholly

Our property is accessible only by boat, with staff transportation provided from Rocky Point in Port Moody. Tools and equipment are provided. On-site accommodation may be available during working days, depending on the agreed schedule.
