Summary

Buhler Versatile Inc. is seeking a data-driven Product Improvement Technologist to join our Product Support and Quality Assurance team. Reporting to the Director of Dealer Support and Quality Assurance, this role focuses on investigating product failures, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions to improve product quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

- Investigate product and component failures, customer complaints, and quality issues, including field visits when required.
- Perform root cause analysis using tools such as 5 Why, Fishbone diagrams, 8D, and FMEA.
- Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions in collaboration with Engineering, Production, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and suppliers.
- Monitor and validate corrective actions to ensure effective, lasting improvements.




- Identify opportunities to improve product design, manufacturing processes, quality, and reliability.
- Analyze technical data, inspect components, and document findings and recommendations for stakeholders.

Qualifications

- Post-secondary diploma in a related technical field; a technology diploma is preferred.
- 3–5+ years of experience in quality assurance, failure analysis, reliability engineering, or problem management within a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience with root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies, including 5 Why, Fishbone, 8D, and FMEA.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to interpret technical data, inspect components, and identify product defects.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, mechanical and electrical systems, and relevant quality and safety standards.
- Robust analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and drive continuous improvement.
- Quality Management Systems certification is an asset.
