About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Retail Sales Associate to join paint and supply store. The ideal candidate enjoys building relationships, helping customers find the right products, and generating new business opportunities.
This position offers a competitive base salary plus commission, providing excellent earning potential for high performers.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers with construction, renovation, and paint product selections.
- Provide exceptional customer service and product recommendations.
- Generate sales and meet performance targets.
- Develop and maintain relationships with contractors, builders, property managers, and retail customers.
- Follow up on customer inquiries and quotations.
- Maintain product displays and ensure the store remains organized and professional.
- Process sales transactions and prepare orders.
- Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling products.
Account Management Opportunities Employees who develop and manage customer accounts may qualify for ongoing recurring commissions on repeat business generated from their accounts.
Qualifications
- Previous retail sales experience is preferred.
- Experience in construction materials, building supplies, paint products, or related industries is an asset.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated with a passion for sales and customer service.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with point-of-sale systems.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Language Requirements
- Fluent in English.
- Ability to speak a second language is highly preferred.
