About Iron Alliance
Iron Alliance Athletic Centre is a community-driven, semi-private strength training facility in Toronto's west end. We specialize in helping everyday adults build strength, improve mobility, overcome physical limitations, and feel confident in their bodies.
Our coaching model combines high-quality strength training with individualized attention, accountability, and a supportive community. With small groups of 2–6 members per coach, we prioritize proper technique, progressive overload, and long-term results.
We're looking for an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and personable Small Group Strength Coach to join our growing team!
The Role
As a Small Group Strength Coach, you'll lead semi-private strength training sessions while providing individualized coaching within a structured group environment.
Our programs are developed in advance, allowing you to focus on what matters most: coaching, connecting with members, and helping people get stronger.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead semi-private strength training sessions with 2–6 members per coach.
- Provide individualized exercise modifications, progressions, and regressions based on each member's abilities and goals.
- Coach proper lifting technique, movement mechanics, and safe exercise execution.
- Guide members through appropriate weight selection, training intensity, and progressive overload.
- Build positive relationships with members and create an encouraging, inclusive training environment.
- Monitor member progress and communicate relevant feedback to the coaching team.
- Maintain a professional, organized, and welcoming training space.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Valid Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) certification from a recognized organization.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Strong understanding of strength training principles, exercise technique, and basic biomechanics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to confidently lead small groups while providing individualized coaching.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience coaching small group or semi-private strength training.
- Experience working with adults of varying ages, abilities, and training backgrounds.
- Familiarity with barbell training, progressive overload, and strength programming.
- Knowledge of mobility, exercise modifications, and working around common physical limitations.
Who We're Looking For We're looking for someone who:
- Loves coaching people, not just working out.
- Is approachable, energetic, patient, and genuinely invested in member success.
- Can confidently manage multiple members at different ability levels.
- Values proper technique, long-term progress, and evidence-based strength training.
- Is dependable, professional, and receptive to feedback.
- Enjoys working collaboratively within a coaching team.

- Competitive compensation: $30–$35/hour based on experience.
- Small coaching groups with a maximum of 6 members per coach.
- Structured training programs and established coaching systems.
- A supportive, collaborative coaching environment.
- Opportunities for professional development and growth.
- A welcoming community of members who genuinely value their coaches.
Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour Expected hours: 6.0 – 20.0 per week
