Key Responsibilities
Choreograph original works for the company's main stage productions and special projects. Develop and rehearse new pieces with the company dancers, fostering their artistic growth. Collaborate with artistic directors, composers, set designers, and costume designers to realize the full vision of each production. Maintain and teach existing repertoire, ensuring the company's performance standards are met. Conduct workshops and masterclasses for company dancers and potentially for the wider community. Contribute to the artistic planning and strategic development of the company.
Scout and identify emerging choreographic talent and new dance trends. Ensure all choreographic work aligns with the company's artistic mission and values in Kimberley.
Requirements
A significant portfolio of created works, demonstrating a distinctive choreographic style and artistic vision. Extensive experience choreographing for professional contemporary dance companies. Deep understanding of movement principles, dance history, and diverse choreographic methodologies. Excellent ability to communicate ideas effectively and inspire dancers. Experience in artistic direction and repertoire development. Strong collaborative spirit and ability to work within a team.
