Job title Volunteer Video Podcast Host / Industrial Technology Interviewer Contract type Volunteer (Unpaid) Location Remote, Canada or United States Role overview The Canadian Physical AI Institute (CPAI) is a growing Canadian nonprofit developing educational industrial technology video content for manufacturing professionals in Canada and the United States. We're launching a new English-language video interview series covering industrial AI, robotics, automation, manufacturing technology, industrial software, and practical implementation challenges. Each episode explores real manufacturing problems and the technologies designed to solve them. Guests from technology vendors will demonstrate solutions and discuss their capabilities, limitations, costs, and implementation requirements. We're looking for a skilled video interviewer who can make complex technical conversations explicit, engaging, and useful to manufacturing professionals. This is not a sales presentation. The host should be curious, well prepared, editorially neutral, and comfortable asking difficult but fair questions. The goal is to help viewers understand what a technology actually does, where it works, where it doesn't, and what adoption looks like in practice. The host's role is to bring out the guest's expertise, not dominate the conversation. This is an unpaid volunteer position with a flexible, modest time commitment. Episodes are recorded remotely. Responsibilities Host remotely recorded video interviews, typically 20 to 30 minutes long. Review supplied technical background materials and interview guides before recording. Ask informed questions that help guests explain technical concepts in accessible language. Keep conversations natural, energetic, focused, and professionally paced. Respectfully challenge vague product claims, unsupported performance statements, and overly promotional answers. Ask for practical examples, evidence, demonstrations, and real implementation experiences.

Explore solution strengths, limitations, costs, integration requirements, and common deployment challenges. Guide guests through real manufacturing problems and how their technologies address them. Keep discussions relevant to engineers, manufacturing managers, operations leaders, and other industrial professionals. Work with CPAI's production team, which manages editing and publishing. Maintain editorial independence, professionalism, and neutrality in discussions with technology vendors. Essential qualifications
• Excellent spoken English and strong interviewing skills.
• Demonstrated experience personally hosting or conducting video interviews.
• Confident and natural on-camera presence.
• Ability to listen carefully, ask relevant follow-up questions, and adapt when a guest gives an unexpected or incomplete answer.
• Ability to keep technical conversations understandable without oversimplifying.
• Sound editorial judgment and willingness to question promotional claims respectfully.
• Ability to prepare independently using provided background materials.
• Reliable remote recording setup, including a good microphone, camera, lighting, quiet recording space, and stable internet connection. Preferred qualifications
• We'd particularly like to hear from people with experience in one or more of these areas:
• Industrial or manufacturing journalism.
• Engineering, technology, or B2B podcast hosting.
• Technical video interviewing or presenting.
• Manufacturing operations, industrial automation, or robotics.

• Industrial AI, manufacturing software, or digital transformation.
• Moderating engineering conferences, technical panels, or industry events.
• Interviewing technology vendors, engineers, product specialists, or manufacturing leaders.
• Manufacturing or industrial technology knowledge is strongly preferred.
• Experience hosting interviews matters more than having a particular job title. If you're a strong interviewer who can quickly understand technical subjects, we'd still like to hear from you. What you'll get as a volunteer
• On-screen host credit and a profile link accompanying each published episode.
• Finished episodes you can include in your professional portfolio.
• Direct conversations with technology Companies and engineering experts.
• Opportunities to sharpen your technical interviewing and on-camera presentation skills.
• A chance to help build a new Canadian nonprofit video series from its early stages. Application instructions Apply through the CPAI contact form: https://physicalai.ca/en/contact/ Under the reason for contacting us, choose: "Student, volunteer, or contributor opportunity" In your message, please include: LinkedIn profile or professional bio: A link or brief summary of your relevant experience.
