About Mega Siding

Mega Siding Exterior Ltd. is an established exterior cladding contractor specializing in commercial, multi-family residential, and institutional construction projects throughout British Columbia.

We are seeking a highly skilled, technically knowledgeable, and experienced Exterior Cladding Foreman capable of independently managing complex cladding installations, leading professional installation crews, and delivering exceptional workmanship.

This is a senior field leadership position requiring extensive hands-on experience with various exterior cladding systems, strong technical understanding of building envelope assemblies, excellent drawing interpretation skills, and proven supervisory capabilities.

We are looking for someone who genuinely knows their trade, understands how different cladding systems are properly assembled and installed, and can confidently manage a project from preparation through final installation and inspection.

IMPORTANT: Applicants must be willing and available to travel and temporarily relocate to project locations anywhere in British Columbia, including extended out-of-town assignments. Living-out allowances (LOA) and company-provided accommodations are provided for qualifying out-of-town projects.

Required Technical Expertise

Candidates must demonstrate substantial practical knowledge and hands-on installation experience with commercial exterior cladding systems, including:

James Hardie Fibre Cement Systems

- HardiePlank lap siding, HardiePanel, HardieTrim, and Artisan products.
- Proper fastening, cutting, clearances, joint treatments, flashing, and installation methods.
- Manufacturer installation specifications and best practices.

Architectural Metal Cladding

- Horizontal and vertical metal siding and panel systems.
- Steel and aluminum architectural cladding.
- Standing seam and concealed-fastener panel systems.
- Metal trims, flashings, transitions, corners, and architectural details.
- Supporting systems, including clips, girts, Z-girts, and hat channels.

Aluminum Composite Material (ACM) Panels

- Installation of architectural ACM panel systems.
- Panel layout, alignment, fastening, and supporting substructures.
- Understanding of panel joints, reveals, movement allowances, and manufacturer installation requirements.

Soffit, Fascia & Related Finishes

- Metal, aluminum, vinyl, wood, and architectural soffit systems.
- Vented and non-vented soffit applications.
- Fascia, trims, closures, and finishing details.

Rainscreen & Building Envelope Assemblies

- Rainscreen strapping, furring, and cavity construction.
- Weather-resistive barriers and building membranes.
- Exterior insulation, thermal clips, girts, and support assemblies.
- Window and door flashing, penetrations, transitions, and waterproofing details.
- Drainage, ventilation, moisture management, and building envelope best practices.

Experience with specialty products such as Longboard, LUX Architectural Products, and other commercial cladding systems is considered a strong asset. Candidates must have proven hands-on expertise in multiple systems listed above, particularly James Hardie, architectural metal cladding, and soffit installations. ACM experience is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

- Independently lead and supervise siding and exterior cladding installation crews.
- Oversee all stages of exterior cladding installation, from preparation and layout through final finishing.
- Accurately read and interpret architectural drawings, elevations, wall sections, shop drawings, and technical specifications.
- Understand complex wall assemblies and ensure all components are installed in the correct sequence.
- Plan daily operations, assign work, and maintain consistent crew productivity.
- Coordinate effectively with general contractors, site superintendents, project managers, and other trades.
- Identify and resolve installation challenges, drawing discrepancies, and site conditions.
- Ensure all work meets manufacturer specifications, project requirements, and company quality standards.
- Coordinate material requirements, site equipment, deliveries, and installation schedules.
- Conduct quality inspections, prevent deficiencies, and ensure corrective work is completed promptly.
- Maintain accurate daily timesheets, progress updates, and site documentation.
- Enforce WorkSafeBC requirements, fall protection procedures, and company safety standards.
- Train and mentor installers while maintaining high standards of workmanship, professionalism, and accountability.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of substantial hands-on experience in skilled exterior cladding and siding installation.
- Proven experience working as a foreman, lead installer, or supervisor on commercial or multi-family construction projects.
- Advanced technical knowledge of James Hardie systems, architectural metal cladding, soffit, flashing, and rainscreen assemblies.
- Strong ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and installation details independently.
- Thorough understanding of building envelope construction, moisture management, waterproofing, and proper installation sequencing.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise installation crews while maintaining strong productivity and exceptional workmanship.
- Ability to independently troubleshoot complex technical and installation challenges.
- Experience planning work, coordinating materials, and maintaining project schedules.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Thorough understanding of workplace safety, fall protection, and applicable WorkSafeBC requirements.
- Required personal hand tools, appropriate PPE, and reliable transportation.
- Dependable, punctual, professional, and accountable.
- Must be willing and available to travel and temporarily relocate anywhere in British Columbia for extended project assignments.

Travel & Out-of-Town Assignments Mega Siding operates throughout British Columbia, including the Lower Mainland, Fraser Valley, Vancouver Island, Sunshine Coast, Interior, Kootenays, and Northern BC.

This position requires flexibility to work at different project locations across the province.

For qualifying out-of-town assignments, we provide:

- Living-Out Allowance (LOA) in addition to regular hourly compensation.
- Company-arranged and provided accommodations while working away from home.
- Organized work rotations and scheduled time off.
- Opportunities to work on substantial commercial and institutional construction projects throughout BC.

Candidates must be comfortable working away from home for extended periods as required by project schedules. Willingness to travel and temporarily relocate throughout BC is a mandatory requirement, not an optional preference.

What We Are Looking For

We maintain high standards for technical competency, workmanship, safety, efficiency, and professionalism.

The successful candidate must be someone who:

- Has extensive technical knowledge and can confidently install and supervise multiple exterior cladding systems.
- Takes responsibility for the quality, safety, productivity, and overall performance of their crew.
- Can be trusted to manage a job site without constant supervision.
- Understands architectural details and recognizes potential installation problems before they become deficiencies.
- Maintains excellent workmanship while meeting reasonable production expectations.
- Communicates professionally and proactively with management, general contractors, and other trades.
- Leads by example and maintains a reliable, disciplined, and productive crew.
- Takes genuine pride in completing work correctly, efficiently, and professionally.

We are seeking proven professionals with genuine expertise, not simply individuals who have worked in construction for several years.

What We Offer

- Competitive hourly compensation based on demonstrated qualifications and experience.
- Full-time opportunities on commercial, institutional, and multi-family construction projects.
- Living-out allowances and company-provided accommodations for qualifying out-of-town assignments.

- Opportunities to work with diverse and technically advanced exterior cladding systems.
- Professional development and opportunities for advancement.
- Long-term opportunities for reliable, highly skilled individuals who demonstrate strong performance and leadership.

Experienced Crews Encouraged to Apply We are particularly interested in experienced foremen who currently lead or work with an established crew of highly skilled siding and exterior cladding installers.

Candidates who can bring an experienced, productive, and dependable installation crew are strongly encouraged to apply.

An existing crew is an asset, but not a requirement. Qualified individual foremen are equally encouraged to apply.

All prospective crew members must meet Mega Siding's standards for technical competency, workmanship, safety, reliability, and willingness to work throughout British Columbia.
