Overview

We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and proactive Service Delivery Assistant to support our team at Chestermere Public Library. In this role, you will help ensure the smooth daily operation of the library by assisting visitors, organizing library materials, and supporting staff with routine service tasks. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys helping others, staying organized, and working in a welcoming community environment.

No previous experience is required, as training will be provided.

Duties

- Assist with sorting, shelving, and organizing books, magazines, and other library materials.
- Help visitors locate books, resources, and library services.
- Support the circulation desk with basic tasks related to borrowing and returning materials.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and welcoming environment for library visitors.
- Assist staff with preparing materials and setting up rooms for library programs and community events.
- Help move books, supplies, and equipment safely when needed.
- Follow library procedures and maintain accurate records as required.
- Communicate politely and professionally with visitors, coworkers, and library staff.
- Provide friendly customer service and refer questions to appropriate staff members when necessary.

Qualifications




- No previous experience required; on-the-job training will be provided.
- Friendly and positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn library systems.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to perform light physical tasks, including standing, bending, and lifting books or supplies.
- Dependable, punctual, and committed to providing excellent customer service.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends, if required.

Pay: $27.25-$28.88 per hour

Expected hours: 45.0 per week
