Red Seal Truck & Equipment Repair is a busy commercial repair shop servicing heavy trucks, trailers, tank equipment and fleets. We’re looking for an experienced Service Manager to take ownership of our service department and keep every unit moving, from the moment it rolls in until the final invoice.

This isn’t a desk job. You’ll need real heavy-duty repair knowledge, the confidence to make decisions, and the ability to keep a fast-moving shop organized.

What you’ll do

- Run the daily workflow: review incoming requests, set priorities, and schedule work around technician availability and customer needs
- Open and manage work orders, build estimates, and get and document customer approvals
- Give technicians clear repair instructions, track progress, and catch jobs running over estimated labour time early
- Work with the parts department so parts are ordered and charged to the correct work order
- Keep customers updated on delays, additional repairs and completion times
- Review completed work orders for labour, parts, notes and documentation, and have them ready to invoice within 48 hours
- Follow up on open estimates, pending approvals and outstanding work orders
- Handle warranty and comeback repairs, quality concerns and customer complaints
- Coordinate after-hours and emergency service when needed




- Work with Operations and Shop Management to keep the department productive

What you bring

- Experience as a Service Manager, Shop Foreman, Service Advisor or senior heavy-duty technician
- Solid knowledge of heavy-duty truck and trailer repair, labour times, parts and repair profitability
- Experience leading technicians and managing shop workflow
- Experience working directly with commercial fleet customers, including handling the tough conversations
- Organized and accountable, able to make decisions without constant supervision
- Calm under pressure when priorities change
- Strong computer skills

Requirement

- Heavy Equipment Technician / Heavy-Duty Mechanic background
- Alberta Journeyperson certificate or Interprovincial Red Seal endorsement
- Experience with Fullbay or similar shop-management software
