About Us
Industrial Hydraulics and Machines is a hands-on shop specializing in hydraulic sales and service, custom machining, fabrication, and equipment design. We take pride in tackling complex mechanical challenges and building long-term solutions for our industrial and agricultural clients. We are looking for a hard-working, dependable Shop Laborer who wants to get their foot in the door, learn from experienced red-seal tradespeople, and earn a career as an apprentice.
Position Overview
Are you mechanically inclined, eager to work with your hands, and looking for a real career path rather than just a job? We don't expect you to know everything on day one—what we value most is a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and high reliability. You will start by supporting day-to-day shop operations, assisting senior technicians and machinists, and maintaining an organized work environment, with a clear path toward a formal Machinist, Millwright, or Hydraulic Technician Apprenticeship for the right candidate.

- Trade Support: Assist senior machinists and hydraulic technicians with disassembling, cleaning, inspecting, and reassembling cylinders, pumps, and machinery components.
- Parts & Hose Assembly: Learn and assist with cutting, crimping, and assembling hydraulic hoses and fittings.
- Tool & Equipment Care: Help maintain shop tools, perform basic preventive maintenance on machinery,
and track shop supplies.
Qualifications & Skills
- Mechanical Aptitude: Comfortable working with hand tools, power tools, and basic measuring equipment (tapes, calipers).
- Work Ethic & Attitude: Punctual, dependable, proud of doing quality work, and eager to learn new skills.
- Physical Capability: Ability to lift up to [e.g., 50 lbs], stand for extended periods, and perform physical tasks in a shop environment.
- Safety Mindset: Committed to following shop safety rules, wearing proper PPE, and keeping a clean work area.
- Driver's License: Valid driver's license with clean record preferred (for local parts pickups/deliveries when needed).
- Apprenticeship Interest: Genuine interest in pursuing a trade certification in machining, hydraulics, or mechanical repair.
What We Offer
- Transparent Career Path: Opportunity to earn a sponsored trade apprenticeship based on performance and reliability.
- Competitive Pay: Strong entry wage with regular performance reviews and skill-based raises.
- On-the-Job Training: Direct mentorship from skilled machinists and hydraulic specialists.
- Healthy Spending Account after probationary period.
