Snow Equipment Operator – Overnight On-Call | Winter 2026–27

Terrace Group | Winnipeg, Manitoba

Grow Fast. Earn More. Take Ownership

Experienced loader or skid steer operator? Tired of contractors who treat snow as a side gig and their equipment like it’s disposable?

Terrace Group is a commercial snow removal company. We’re not a company that does snow in the winter to make ends meet. Winter is what we do. We run established commercial routes, keep our equipment well maintained, and pay operators for skill, reliability, and results.

- Real pay: $30/hr base plus storm and performance bonuses, averaging about $53/hr over a full season. Experience is rewarded.
- Your machine, all season: Every operator is assigned their own equipment for the full winter. It’s your machine to run, maintain, and take pride in.
- Clear ladder: Operator → Lead Operator → Route Supervisor, with raises tied to safety, quality, reliability, and documentation
- Year-round path: Summer maintenance and construction work for top performers

About the Role As a Snow Equipment Operator, you’ll be responsible for operating loaders, skid steers, and other snow removal equipment to clear snow and maintain commercial properties throughout the winter season.

You’ll work independently and alongside our winter operations team to complete assigned routes, respond to snow events, and maintain Terrace Group’s service standards. This is a hands-on role for operators who understand that equipment operation is about more than moving snow — it’s about protecting client property, working efficiently, and delivering consistent results.

This is a seasonal, weather-dependent winter role covering overnights, weekends, and holidays. You’ll be on call whenever conditions require, with the potential to return in future seasons and year-round opportunities for strong performers.

What You’ll Do

- Equipment Operation: Safely operate wheel loaders, skid steers, and other snow removal equipment equipped with snow pushers, buckets, metal press, or appropriate attachments.
- Snow Removal: Clear commercial parking lots, drive lanes, loading areas, access roads, and other assigned areas according to Terrace Group standards.
- Snow Management: Push, stack, relocate, and organize snow in designated storage areas while maintaining protected access and efficient site operations.
- Route Execution: Complete assigned properties efficiently and thoroughly, following dispatch instructions, site-specific requirements, and service timelines.
- Storm Response: Respond to snowfall and changing weather conditions, including overnight operations, extended shifts, weekends, and statutory holidays.
- Property Protection: Operate with care around curbs, buildings, vehicles,

landscaping, pedestrian areas, and other site features.
- Equipment Inspections: Complete pre-shift and post-shift inspections, identify defects, and report mechanical issues promptly.
- Equipment Care: Fuel, grease, clean, and maintain your assigned machine to keep it safe, reliable, and ready for the next storm.
- Documentation: Complete accurate equipment logs, service records, time entries, and required before-and-after photos using our mobile app.
- Communication: Stay in contact with dispatch and supervisors, report completed work, communicate site concerns, and flag issues before they become problems.
- Safety: Follow all company policies, equipment procedures, and site-specific safety requirements on every shift.

What Success Looks Like

- Safe Operation: Zero preventable incidents or property damage.
- Quality Work: Every lot is cleared to standard, with snow placed right and access maintained.
- Reliability: You answer the call, show up ready, and finish the route.
- Equipment Ownership: Your machine is inspected, maintained, and ready for the next storm.
- Accurate Records: Your photos, hours, inspections, and notes are complete every shift.
- Team Work: You communicate clearly with dispatch, supervisors, and other operators to keep operations running smoothly.

You Bring

- Commercial snow removal experience on a wheel loader, skid steer, or CTL. Metal Pless or pusher experience is a strong asset.
- Valid Manitoba Class 5 licence with a clean abstract (no at-fault accidents in the last year).
- CSA-approved steel-toe winter boots (mandatory).
- Reliable transportation and the ability to respond to call-outs within 60 minutes.
- Mechanical awareness and a willingness to do routine machine care.
- Comfort using a mobile app for timekeeping, photos, and inspections.
- Availability for overnight shifts, early mornings, weekends, statutory holidays, and 24/7 storm response.

Worksite Reality Winter operations are unpredictable and weather-driven. When it snows, we mobilize. Expect overnight call-outs, 12+ hour shifts during major events, -30°C temperatures, and tight sites with low visibility. This role suits operators who stay sharp under pressure and run safe when conditions are at their worst.

Pay & Perks

- Pay: $30/hr base + bonuses (about $53/hr over a full season)
- Equipment: Your own assigned,

well-maintained machine for the entire season
- Growth: Returning seasonal employment and year-round opportunities in summer maintenance and construction for top performers
- Perks: On-site parking, company events

Our Core Values

- I Am Paid to Learn: Take feedback seriously and sharpen your skills every shift.
