Southeast - STO15 Wildfire Crew Leader - (126163) Posting Title Southeast - STO15 Wildfire Crew Leader On-Site Regular Full Time Temporary End Date Ministry/Organization BC Public Service - Ministry of Forests Ministry Branch / Division At the Southeast, you'll join a agile and established team of diverse individuals dedicated to working together towards a common goal of wildfire management and safety. Our team comprises both Unit crews, made up of 22 people, and Initial Attack crews, made up of 4 people.

The Fire

Crew leader plays a critical role in executing fire suppression and hazard plans, ensuring crews are effectively mobilized in incident response. In this role, you'll lead crews on the fireline and in day-to-day fieldwork around their communities, playing a vital part in keeping these communities safe and resilient. Candidates will find excitement in this opportunity to work in a fast-paced, team-based environment, where their efforts contribute to the well-being of British Columbia's citizens.

An equivalent combination of training and education may be considered; 2 seasons forest fire related experience; Successfully complete annual fitness standard testing; Maintain personal weights standards as required for crew type throughout the year; Valid Class 5 driver's license. Attended BC Wildfire Provincial Crew Leader training or agency equivalent. Previous BC Wildfire Crew Leader experience such as a temporary assignment as a Crew Leader Higher education in Resource Management or related field.

Experience delivering education or training to adult audiences.

Qualified Faller

Assessor, Qualified Faller Trainer, Certified Faller or Faller in Training, or industry equivalent. To be flexible regarding ongoing changes in responsibilities, assignments,



and corporate structures. To take in-house training and certification as required.

To fly in aircraft (fixed wing and rotary) as required. To work under adverse or stressful conditions, including smoke, extreme heat, and mountainous terrain in remote and isolated conditions. To travel and overnight in remote locations where accommodations may vary as required.

To obtain and maintain certification and training for crew positions to meet operational requirements.
