Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Traffic Control Person to ensure the safety and smooth flow of traffic at construction sites and roadwork zones. This role is vital for maintaining safety standards for workers, motorists, and pedestrians. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on safety, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in energetic outdoor environments. Prior construction or paving experience is a plus, but training will be provided for the right candidate.

Duties

- Direct and control traffic around construction zones using signs, signals, and flagging devices
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and traffic control plans
- Assist in setting up and dismantling traffic control equipment
- Communicate effectively with construction crews, motorists, and pedestrians to provide clear instructions
- Monitor work zones for potential hazards and report unsafe conditions promptly
- Operate heavy equipment as needed for site setup or maintenance (training provided)
- Support paving operations and other construction activities as required




- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency

Skills

- Robust understanding of traffic control procedures and safety protocols
- Experience with heavy equipment operation is preferred but not required
- Construction or paving experience is advantageous
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and the public
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
- Ability to follow instructions precisely and work as part of a team
